IPBurger VPN/Proxy Setup Guide for Android
This guide will show you how to set up an IPBurger VPN/Proxy using manual configurations on Android devices. Follow the steps below to ensure you're connected securely, whether you're on cellular data or Wi-Fi.
1. Cellular Data Connection:
Using Access Point Name (APN) Settings
Steps:
- Open Settings: Go to your device's settings.
2. Search for APN or Access Point Name: In the search bar within settings, type "APN" and select the option that appears.
3. Add or Edit APN: Tap to add a new APN or modify an existing one, depending on your needs.
4. Setup Configuration: Enter the following information:
- Name: Any name you prefer.
- APN and Proxy: Enter the host address.
- Port, Username, Password: Fill in as provided.
5. Save and Select APN: Once configured, save your settings and select the new or modified APN to establish your connection.
6. Restart Mobile Data: Turn off mobile data in Settings and wait a few seconds before turning it back on.
7. Sign-in: When you visit a website, a sign-in pop-up will appear. Enter your proxy username and password in the fields provided to authenticate your connection.
2. Wi-Fi Connection:
Using Manual Proxy Configuration
Steps:
- Open Settings: Navigate to your device's settings.
2. Wi-Fi Settings: Tap on "Wi-Fi" to see the list of available networks.
3. Select Your Wi-Fi Network:
- Tap the “>” on the name of the Wi-Fi network you are connected to or want to connect to.
4. Access Proxy Settings:
- Scroll down and look for the "Proxy" option in the Wi-Fi network details.
- Select "Manual" to configure the proxy settings manually
5. Setup Configuration: Enter the proxy details: Hostname and Port.
Note: Bypassing for the proxy is optional.
6. Save Settings: Once configured, save the settings to start using the proxy.
7. Sign-in: When you visit a website, a sign-in pop-up will appear. Enter your proxy username and password in the fields provided to authenticate your connection.
Important Note:
Disadvantages of Using a Proxy on Android:
- Persistent Pop-Up: After connecting to the proxy, you may experience a persistent pop-up whenever you open a webpage. If you navigate away from the screen, the pop-up will disappear, requiring you to reload the page.
